On production of a valid "National" Senior Citizen or Disabled Person Concessionary Travel Pass issued by any 'Cheshire' local council, the holder can travel on a Network Warrington bus, on payment of HALF FARE, on Monday to Friday before 09:30. After this time, on Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday Sunday and Public Holidays, travel is FREE on production of a valid pass. The pass is valid throughout England, but local variations may apply. Different rules apply in Greater Manchester and Merseyside. It is not valid in Wales or Scotland.
Further details about the scheme can be obtained by clicking here or from Warrington Borough Council on 01925 443322. For Senior Citizens, the scheme was originally for the over 60s, however the age of eligibility is being increased from 60 to 65, so over the next five years (from April 2010) the age at which you become entitled to the Senior Citizen pass will increase. An interactive ready reckoner is available to download here. After 2015 the age for eligibility will be 65 years old.
A tabular ready reckoner for your age of eligibility can be found here, download the Merseytravel leaflet and go to pages 12-15.
